The Usborne "Reading Is A Gift" book fair program was
developed by Usborne Books to encourage reading and at the same
time, raise money and/or free books for your school or organization.
We understand the needs and challenges faced by organizations trying
to raise funds so we've designed the program to make it both easy
on sponsors and successful in reaching your fundraising goals! With
the FREE book and/or cash incentives that are in place for each
book fair sponsor, your fundraising options are as easy as 1, 2,
3:
1. Cash - fund special projects, teacher resources or extras for
your students
2. Money and books - provides the sponsor with cash and FREE books
for the library
3. FREE books - Up to 50% of retail sales in free books
What Type of Organizations are Benefiting and How Can Your
Group Benefit?
Childrens
groups like Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts or clubs
- raising funds for field trips and other activities, receiving
books and kid kits to donate to needy children for community involvement.
Some are also utilizing our Reach for the Stars
program with reading badges or other existing activities.
Churches - raising funds for childrens programs,
receiving wonderful children's bibles and bible stories for their
Sunday school programs or books and kid kits to donate to needy
children.
Local Businesses - benefiting their employees
by saving time in holiday shopping and then donating the free books
they recieve to local needy children.
Daycare Centers - saving busy parents time, getting
great educational books into the hands of young children to promote
literacy, and receiving free books for their libraries.
Doctors Offices, Dental Offices, Businesses with waiting
rooms - saving clients time, promoting literacy and learning,
receiving free books for their waiting rooms or donating books to
needy children.

Free Book Program
. 50% of the sales in free books for bookfairs over $500.00 in sales.
. 25% of the sales in free books for book fairs between $250.00
and $500.00 in sales.
. Minimum sales for a book fair is $250.00.
Cash Only Program
. 25% of the sales in CASH for book fairs over $3,000.00 in sales.
. 20% of the sales in CASH for book fairs over $2,000.00 in sales.
. 15% of the sales in CASH for book fairs over $750.00 in sales.
. Minimum sales for the cash only program is $750.00.
Combination Program
A percentage of cash and free books can also be divided to give
your organization an opportunity to earn both. Together we can design
a program that will fit your needs.
